Connect with Confidence

OneWeb’s network supports Air, Land, Sea, and Space communications for government networks and missions demanding rapid deployability; military-grade network security; flexibility, and the ability to scale.

The consortium behind OneWeb, led by the UK Government and the Indian mobile network operator Bharti Global, offers unique opportunities for the government sector to bring digital inclusion to millions of personnel through fibre-like connectivity for the first time.

Connect with Confidence

Air

OneWeb’s Global Connectivity Platform satisfies Government requirements to equip fixed-wing, rotary-wing and unmanned aerial systems (UASs) with game-changing levels in connectivity.

Air Forces are able to exploit Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) and enhanced levels of Situation Awareness (SA) that are reliant on low latency (<50ms), high data rate (<195Mbps) communications, and an ‘ecosystem’ of proprietary technologies, including LEO-only Airborne User Terminals, to provide pilots and crew with high throughput performance and efficiency across multiple environments.

OneWeb’s programmable networks support:

  • Common Operating Picture capabilities at pace
  • Measured aircraft navigation performance and health
  • Confirm auxiliary power unit data measurement
  • Real time flight planning and mission changes
  • Secure Video conference connectivity
  • Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) and Secure VOIP services
  • Black Box data record and disseminate

OneWeb’s network can also be integrated into wider, aggregated communications networks across a battlespace, thereby merging LEO-based connectivity with Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET), 5G infrastructure and geostationary (GEO) satellite communications. The system is also future-proofed to enable access to cloud computing and the Internet of Things.

Land

OneWeb solutions provide land forces with seamless, secure voice and data communications that allow personnel to establish and maintain tactical advantage on the ground. Solutions are military-compliant, to meet stringent requirements of forward-deployed units operating at the ‘tactical edge’, particularly in areas of operation where peer adversaries can disrupt, degrade and intercept communications.

Solutions are tailored to satisfy connectivity requirements for ‘Early Entry’ communications teams and ensure maximum levels in Command and Control and Situation Awareness across any given theatre.

OneWeb’s programmable networks provide:

  • Enhanced Levels in Security, Cyber and Situation Awareness
  • Resilient connectivity and innovative applications for superior decision-making
  • Reduced size, weight, and power (SWaP) User Terminals

OneWeb has an ‘ecosystem’ of technologies that include low profile antennae and specialist waveforms capable of supporting electro-magnetic signature management and reducing radio frequency detection and intercept by enemy forces.

Small, rugged, lightweight User Terminals can be carried on-the-person or integrated on board manned and unmanned tactical ground vehicles to support the Command, Control, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5IR) requirements of dismounted and mounted troop formations, both large and small.

OneWeb facilitates tactical through to strategic connectivity requirements for naval forces everywhere. Our platform enables resilient inter- and intra-fleet connectivity for every kind of maritime task force, whether operating rigid hull inflatable boats; fast inland attack craft; unmanned surface vessels; destroyers; or aircraft carriers.

OneWeb’s secure, low latency, high speed and high throughput communications support:

  • C5ISR (Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) missions
  • Enhanced Levels in Security, Cyber and Situation Awareness
  • Resilient connectivity and innovative applications for superior decision-making
  • Logistics and supply management
  • Roll-on/roll-off communications payloads for USVs
  • Engineering systems for management, control & maintenance
  • Beyond Line of Sight monitoring and control of personnel welfare

Surface vessels are able to access the OneWeb network through small, lightweight and ruggedised Maritime User Terminals which can be integrated on board almost any platform type regardless of payload restrictions.

Space

OneWeb Satellites, Florida, U.S.

OneWeb, together in partnership with Airbus Defence and Space, and OneWeb Satellites, is revolutionizing the economics of space. Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites can be manufactured to order for OneWeb customers from our state-of-the-art facility located at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The plant is equipped to build up to two LEO satellites everyday, not only for OneWeb's launch program, but also to customers around the world.

We have created an industrial supply chain consisting of approximately 40 suppliers, each of whom is themselves mass producing parts for our satellites with reduced costs and production time in comparison to larger Middle Earth Orbit (MEO) and Geostationary (GEO) satellites.

OneWeb satellites are also designed with agnostic interfaces that are compatible with many different payloads. Our standardized payload interface provides end users with cost savings and opens the door to new kinds of mission requirements.

Using OneWeb’s proprietary ‘ecosystem’ of global gateways and user terminals, our Low Earth Orbit satellites provide complementary capabilities to existing MEO and GEO satellite communications.
